A powerful piece of theatre based around the story of a World War One soldier is being taken to The Blakehay Theatre in Weston.

Sunshine Productions is putting on the show written by actor Peter Gill. It will present the realities of war through the eyes of someone who fought in it.

Tommy Atkins will tell his story of seeing his first action in France, and his experiences of pain, boredom, and occasional moments of joy, in the trenches.

Meet Tommy Atkins will take the audience through his part in battles in Ypres, Passendale, Loos and on the Somme.

The production will be at the theatre, in Wadham Street, on April 20 at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £10-12 are available on 01934 645493 or from the Blakehay Theatre website.

The Mercury has teamed up with Sunshine Productions to offer five pairs of tickets to the show.

Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final. The competition closes at 10am on April 14.
