Ayckbourn is a prolific English playwright who has created more than 70 full-length shows.

In Absent Friends, Diana arranges a gathering to cheer up recently-bereaved Colin. But tensions are at breaking point before Colin even arrives.

The play explores friendship, marriage and the meaning of happiness.

Absent Friends was Ayckbourn’s 16th full-length play, performed in London’s West End for the first time in 1975.

This latest interpretation will be at The Playhouse on November 19-21 at 7.30pm. There will also be a matinee show at 2.30pm on November 21.
