The Tony and Olivier Award-winning production La Cage Aux Folles will visit the Bristol Hippodrome, where John Partridge will take the leading role.
Partridge, who played Christian Clarke in EastEnders, has extensive theatre credits to his name, including a recent stint in Chicago, which also visited the Hippodrome.
He will take on the iconic role of Albin, who moonlights as a star drag act at the infamous La Cage Aux Folles nightclub, run by his partner Georges.
Their idyllic existence in the south of France is at risk of crashing around them when Georges’ son announced his engagement to the daughter of a notorious right-wing politician.
To make matters worse, the politician threatens to close down the colourful nightclub.
The original musical was an instant smash hit when it opened on Broadway in 1983.
It received nine Tony Award nominations, and won six, including best musical.
La Cage Aux Folles will be at the Bristol Hippodrome on May 23-27, with performances at 7.30pm.
There will also be 2.30pm matinees on May 24, 25 and 27.
Tickets, priced £21-52.90, are available from the Bristol Hippodrome website or 08448 713012.
