John Sergeant.

FORMER political correspondent John Sergeant will give a talk at The Playhouse.

Sergeant is considered to be one of Britain’s most respected broadcasters, and during his BBC career he interviewed Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher, John Major and Tony Blair.

In recent years, he has returned to his love of entertainment, and regularly appears on Have I Got News For You, The One Show and QI.

In 2008, he appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, and despite regularly being at the bottom of the judges’ leader board, he was consistently saved by the public.

He has also presented several documentaries, including John Sergeant’s Tourist Trail, and Tracks Of Empire.

John Sergeant will appear at The Playhouse as part of its Weston Literary Festival on May 8 at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £17.50, are available from the box office on 01934 645544 or online at
