Everyone’s favourite spooky family will be taking to the stage in a spectacular musical comedy.

The writers of the multi-award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys present the hilarious Addams Family.

The family favourite was created by cartoonist Charles Addams and debuted in The New Yorker in 1938.

Since then it has gone on to become a household favourite through a hit TV series and film franchise.

The new musical version, directed by Matthew White, has now set off on its UK and Ireland Tour.

The story follows the princess of darkness herself, Wednesday Addams (Carrie Hope Fletcher), now she is all grown up.

But she has a shocking secret which only her father Gomez (Cameron Blakely) knows – she has fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family.

Gomez is forced to keep his daughter’s secret from his beloved wife Morticia, played by EastEnders’ Samantha Womack.

Everything changes for the family when they welcome Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents for dinner, with hilarious consequences.

The Addams Family is sure to entertain people of all ages with a brilliant live orchestra and extraordinary original score.

The show will be at the Bristol Hippodrome, in St Augustines Parade, from September 19-23.

Performances will start at 7.30pm each night, except from September 22 when the show will begin at 8.30pm.

There will also be a 2.30pm matinee on September 20 and 23 and a 5pm show on September 22.

Tickets, priced £21.90-56.40, are available from 08448 717627 or via www.atgtickets.com

The Mercury has teamed up with the Hippodrome to offer two readers a pair of tickets to the show at 7.30pm on September 19.

This competition will close at 10am on July 28.

Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final.
