After a sell-out tour of the South West and Midlands in 2017, Wiltshire based theatre company The Last Baguette return with this touching, madcap and heart-warming Christmas show for all the family.

The company use visual storytelling, live music and puppetry to shine a light this classic winter tale.

The show follows the day in the life of Alice, a match girl in Victorian London on Christmas Eve, battling to stay warm through the snow and cold.

The play follows her adventures as she encounters the funny and zany characters of the vibrant city streets.

As Alice attempts to stay warm she strikes a match, then a second and a third.

In the cold the flames blaze to life and the flickering fire illuminates her fantastic Christmas visions.

With each strike the audience enters the world of Alice’s imagination as she meets talking turkeys, dancing rats, Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their chattering Christmas tree.

Director Susana Alcantud said: “It is a wonderful story which goes right to the heart of what Christmas means.”

Producer Sidney Robb said: “We are performing in libraries and village halls as well as theatres, because we believe it is important that everyone has access to high quality theatre.”

The Little Match Girl will be at The Theatre Shop, in the Triangle, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on December 22 and 23.
