WORLE Operatic and Dramatic Society (WODS) will be taking to the stage at The Playhouse in Weston this week for a production of the Olivier Award-winning musical Our House.

Written for the stage by Tim Firth, this irresistible bright blast of optimism brings together the fantastic ‘skanking’ tunes of Madness together with a story guaranteed to melt your heart.

Our House is the story of Joe Casey, who, on the night of his 16th birthday, takes Sarah, the girl of his dreams, on their first date.

However, due to Joe’s need to impress Sarah with bravado, he breaks into the yard of a local property developer.

The police are called, and what unfolds results in Joe’s character splitting between good Joe and bad Joe. Their collective journeys take them from Borstal to Vegas, with tears and laughter along the way. But will Good Joe win the heart of his childhood sweetheart? Will good win the day?

Tickets for the show, staged from today (Thurs) until Saturday and priced £10, are available from the box office on 01934 645544.
