FESTIVAL fans will be heading to Backwell for a feast of live music, entertainment, cooking workshops and circus acts.
Tickets for Backwell Festival have been snapped up by revellers from as far as London, Cornwall and Hertfordshire.
The popular event is being held in Backwell Junior School on July 12 with party band Doreen Doreen headlining on the main stage.
Michelin-star chefs Josh Eggleton, Sam Moody and Romy Gill will be showing audiences how to create their signature dishes during live cookery demonstrations.
A team from North Somerset Arts will be helping children to make whacky animals out of recyclable material for a junk zoo and @Bristol will be setting up a tent so children can enjoy some hands-on experiments.
Entertainment also includes circus skills with Invisible Youth, music workshops with the Rock Project, freestyle football demonstrations and a healing tent with massage, reiki and harp meditation.
Redpoint Climbing Centre will be setting up boulders for youngsters to climb on while children can enjoy festival favourites including face-painting, nail art, tattoos, a supervised play area and a family film towards the end of the day.
Sixteen bands will be performing on the day including Bristol Samba and Celestine, who recently featured on BBC One’s The Voice.
A range of tents selling refreshments will be whetting revellers’ appetites and the smoothie bike will also be churning out healthy drinks for people keen to pedal for a pint.
The fun kicks off at 1.30pm in Backwell Junior School, Church Lane, and this year the money raised will be donated to the Bhopal Medical Appeal and Backwell Junior School.
