Uphill Castle manager Anthony Askins said it would be "silly" not to "exploit" Stockwood Wanderers weaknesses when the two sides meet in the Uhlsport Somerset County League Premier this afternoon at 3pm (Saturday).

Stockwood have conceded 31 goals so far this season, compared to their 33 goals they have scored from their 15 matches to sit in seventh place in the table.

But Askins said his his side will be looking to take advantage but added that he takes the blame for their cautious start to games and they will go into the game on Weston AFC's 3G taking their match to their opponents.

"I think we're going to go on the front foot," he said.

"I think at times, probably through my own fault, we've been a little bit cautious this season when we perhaps should have taken the game to people a little bit more.

"I think we'll look to do that against Stockwood by trying to attack them. That looks to be where their weakness is and just looking at the goals and goals against it looks to be their weaknesses. So, it will be silly not to try and exploit that."

Askins said their 2-1 win at Worle last tine out will help his side go on to achieve "bigger and better things"

Toby Jones had given Worle the lead before Dan Thomas and Joe Eyles helped Uphill end their run of five straight defeats in all competitions.

"Hopefully it'll be a springboard to to bigger and better things," Askins added.

"I think we needed a win to just give us a little bit of confidence back. I think we're lacking a little bit of confidence. I think the teams quality is what it was last season, when it was good enough to steamroller through the division below and should have been good enough to be mid table here.

"But we haven't been good enough. Teams have found us out and we are hoping that little bit of confidence might just be what the boys need to kick on."

With that victory, Uphill are now three points clear of the relegation zone and Askins said the aim is to beat the drop in their first season in the Premier after promotion from Division One last season.

"Every three points at this moment in time is massive" he said.

"That was definitely the aim. Before we started we wanted three. At 1-0 down we would have taken one because you don't want to get beat again.

"It's three points, it's a bit of a cushion, but that could all turn around in the next game. We have got Stockwood at home on December 30. To get another three on the board there would would be huge for us. But they're right at the top end of the table so it will be a tough battle."
